In this method, both excess skin and fat pockets in the upper and lower lids are improved through a technique that helps rejuvenate eyelids using advanced techniques that can decrease recovery time.

Natural Looking Blepharoplasty® in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles
Dr. Zoumalan carefully evaluates the patient’s eyelids and determines the amount of fat and excess skin that needs to be removed. A one-on-one personalized consultation is performed privately in the Beverly Hills, Los Angeles office. During your initial consultation, Dr. Zoumalan will discuss with you, your cosmetic goals and then perform a complete eyelid and facial examination to determine the best plan to help you get closer to your goals – while educating you with his knowledge and objectives of treatments and techniques.
For The Upper Eyelids
In the upper lids, Dr. Zoumalan carefully removes the right amount of excess skin while preserving your underling structures including the muscle and deep fat structures. In doing so, the volume in the upper lids remains preserved while the eyelid is rejuvenated adequately.
For The Lower Eyelids
In lower eyelid surgery, Dr. Zoumalan will remove excess fat but also mobilize (or reposition) some of the excess fat to improve the hollowing below the eyelid. Fat repositioning helps improves the volume loss that some patients have along the eyelid/cheek area. Rather than completely removing the excess fat, Dr. Zoumalan utilizes the excess fat to improve hollowing in the surrounding eyelid/cheek area. In cases where there is significant volume loss around the eyelid/cheek area and fat repositioning may not be adequate to address the hollowing.
Fat Grafting and Injectable Fillers to Surrounding Volume Loss in Cheek and Midface
In cases of significant volume loss around the eyelid area such as the cheek and midface, fat repositioning alone may not address the volume loss. In such cases Dr. Zoumalan may discuss other options such as fat grafting at the same time of blepharoplasty surgery and/or injectable fillers that can be done in the Beverly Hills office at a later date. Dr. Zoumalan may incorporate fat grafting in addition to fat repositioning where small, finely prepared fat is taken from the patient’s abdominal fat and carefully injected to the cheek and midface area using a microcanula technique. Dr. Zoumalan also uses a microcanula technique for his in office injectable fillers around the eyelid area. Dr. Zoumalan will examine you and determine what you would best benefit from.
Skin Resurfacing
Skin resurfacing is usually performed to address the excess skin during a Natural Looking Blepharoplasty®. Dr. Zoumalan’s technique helps deliver a result where the wrinkles in the skin are improved often without undergoing removal of skin. In most cases, no external incision in the lower lid is required and the eyelid shape is not changed in the corner of the eyelid, hence leaving the patient still looking like themselves but having a refreshed improvement in their eyelids.
