Preoperative Diagnosis: Brow ptosis, upper and lower lid aging changes.

Procedure performed: Endoscopic brow lift, upper and lower lid blepharoplasty.

This 72 year-old male underwent upper and lower lid cosmetic eyelid surgery. A ptosis surgery was also performed at the same time to lift his mildly droopy upper lids and right brow. He underwent lower lid blepharoplasty in order to remove his excess fat pockets. Fat repositioning was also performed to help reposition (or move) some of the excess fat into his infraorbital rim hollows.

Preoperative Diagnosis: Bilateral upper lid ptosis and brow ptosis, lower lid excess fat pockets.

Procedure performed: Bilateral upper lid ptosis repair (blepharoplasty) and external browpexy, lower lid blepharoplasty with fat repositioning.

This 58year-old male had excess skin and fat pockets in his upper and lower lids and wished to undergo cosmetic eyelid surgery. An upper and lower lid blepharoplasty was performed, where excess skin and fat pockets were carefully removed. His brows were also low set and he underwent an external browpexy. Minimally invasive techniques were used to help allow him to heal as well as possible. He has healed well with no evidence of his incisions and now looks more awake, refreshed, sees better, while having a natural looking result.

Preoperative Diagnosis: Bilateral upper lid ptosis and brow ptosis, lower lid excess fat pockets.

Procedure performed:  Bilateral upper lid ptosis repair (blepharoplasty) and external browpexy, lower lid blepharoplasty.

This patient wished to have an upper and lower lid cosmetic blepharoplasty. He was unhappy about his asymmetric upper lids and “loose” skin in his lower lids. He had mild ptosis (droopy lid) of his left upper lid as well. He underwent upper lid ptosis (droopy lid surgery) repair as well as upper and lower lid blepharoplasty. He specifically underwent a lower lid orbicularis suspension flap (skin-muscle flap) blepharoplasty where the skin and muscle where re-suspended to allow for the removal of excess skin while tightening the underlying muscle layers. This is one of the types of techniques that Dr. Zoumalan uses when performing a lower lid blepharoplasty. The post-operative photo was taken four months after undergoing surgery. You can read more about this type of blepharoplasty technique at the PDF link below at the end of this page.

Preoperative diagnosis above: Upper lid ptosis and upper and lower lid dermatochalasia.

Procedure performed: Upper lid ptosis repair, upper lid blepharoplasty and lower lid blepharoplasty using a lower lid orbicularis suspension flap (skin-muscle flap) technique. Note how well the scars have healed. They are virtually undetectable even four months out from surgery.

This is the same patient as seen above who had left upper lid ptosis (you can see the differences well in this view of the upper lid positions) and excess lower lid skin and some prolapse of orbital fat. Note the improvement in his lower lid appearance after undergoing surgery. He has natural-looking results with a significant improvement in his lower lid “excess” skin and you can also see how the prolapsed fat pads are not present anymore.

This 65 year-old femalewished to have her upper and lower lids repaired. She had droopy upper lids (ptosis) and lower lid retraction. She also wanted the excess fat pockets in her lower lids removed. She underwent an upper lid ptosis surgery to lift her upper lids to allow her to see better, revisional lower lid surgery to help lift her lower lids to more natural position, and also a lower lid blepharoplasty. The excess fat pockets were removed using incisions on the back surface of the eyelid so that the incisions are not visible along the skin.

Preoperative diagnosis: Bilateral upper lid ptosis, lower lid retraction, lower lid excess fat pockets.

Procedure performed: Bilateral upper lid ptosis repair, lower lid retraction repair using Alloderm graft and canthoplasty, and lower lid blepharoplasty.

This 78 year-old male had excess skin and droopy upper lids. He also had heavy lower lid bags and wished to have them improved. His exam showed droopy upper lids (ptosis) along with excess skin. He also had a droopy left brow, which was also resulting in some asymmetry. He had excess fat pockets in his lower lids which were causing him to look even more tired. He underwent an upper lid ptosis repair to help lift the lids up to a higher position. An left brow ptosis repair was also performed through a minimally invasive external browpexy technique. An upper and lower lid blepharoplasty was also done to remove his excess skin and fat pockets. Fat repositioning was performed to help fill in the hollows he had along his infraorbital (tear trough) area. Dr. Zoumalan performed this procedure using minimally invasive techniques which allowed him to he heal well with little to no evidence of his incisions. He now looks more awake, sees better, and has a natural looking result.
