  • Before Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 19
After Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 19

This patient desired an improvement in her lower lid dark circles.   She has loss of volume in her lower lid (lower lid hollowing) and cheek area, both of which are resulting in her dark circles. She underwent injectable fillers (hyaluronic acid) consisting of Restylane and Juvederm to help augment her volume loss in her eyelid and cheek area.  Note the natural-looking improvement in her appearance.

Preoperative Diagnosis: Lower lid aging changes, volume loss

Procedure performed: Injectablehyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane and Juvederm) to her eyelid and cheeks.

  • Before Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 18
After Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 18

This patient was wished to improve her lower lid appearance. She was unhappy about the dark circles and the excess wrinkles.  Her skin was hyperpigmented, which can by itself cause the appearance of dark circles. She also had loss of volume and hollowing in her eyelid and cheeks. Lastly, she had lower lid wrinkles, which were also resulting in lower lid aging.

She underwent a triad treatment to address all three of these findings, which included:

    1)      pretreatment skin whitening regimen to help lighten her eyelid skin

    2)      injectable hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane and Juvederm) to the eyelid and cheeks.

    3)      Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) 30% peel to lower lids to help tighten her skin tone and reduce her wrinkles

Note the overall improvement in her appearance with these procedures; all of which did not require her to undergo surgery.

Preoperative Diagnosis: Lower lid and cheek volume loss; lower lid dark circles, hyperpigmentation of skin, eyelid wrinkles.

Procedure performed:  Skin whitening regiment, injectable hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane and Juvederm)to the eyelid and cheeks, and TCA 30% peel to lower eyelids.

  • Before Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 17
After Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 17

This patient wished to have her lower lid aging changes improved.  She had hollowed out lower lids, which were resulting in a tired look and early “dark circle” appearance. The hollowing was due to age-related volume loss at the eyelid/cheek junction. Injectable hyaluronic acid fillers using Restylane and Juvederm were used to build up the volume around the eyelid and cheeks. Note the natural looking result after injectable filler treatment.

Preoperative Diagnosis: Lower lid and cheek volume loss; lower lid dark circles.

Procedure performed: Injectable hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane and Juvederm)to the eyelid and cheeks.

  • Before Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 15
After Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 15

This patient wished to have his lower lid bags improved.  He had early hollowing in his lower eyelid-cheek area. This was making his “bag” or lower eyelid fat pocket more visible.  Hyaluronic acid filler injectables were placed along the lower infraorbital rim area (aka tear trough area) and his midface to help restore the volume loss.

Preoperative Diagnosis: Lower eyelid-cheek volume loss, eyelid bags

Procedure performed: Hyaluronic acid filler injections to the infraorbital rim (aka tear trough) and midface.

  • Before Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 14
After Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 14

Preoperative diagnosis: Lower eyelid bags (ie lowereyelid fat prolapse, right worse than left). Loss of midface volume.

Procedure performed: Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers to the orbital rim (tear trough) and midface. In this patient, Restylane was used below the eyelid bags. Juvederm was used to augment the midface and to restore the volume that had been lost. Pre and post photos are shown above.

Side profile demonstrate the improvement in the eyelid bags, tear trough deformity (orbital rim hollowing), and midface volume. The patient only had hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers consisted of Restylane and Juvederm. This patient did not undergo any sort of eyelid surgery.

  • Before Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 11
After Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 11

Preoperative diagnosis: Tear trough deformity (orbital rim hollowing) and loss of midface volume. The dark lower lid circles are a result of a loss of volume in the tear trough area and a result of some “extra” fat that has herniated.

Procedure performed: Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers to orbital rim (tear trough) and midface.

This patient wished to have his lower lid dark circles and hollows improved. He had volume loss along his infraorbital rim. Hyaluronic acid fillers were carefully injected along his lower lid and cheek area to improve his volume.  One can really see the improvement especially when the patient looks in upgaze (which accentuates his volume loss).

Preoperative Diagnosis: Lower lid dark circles (infraorbital hollowing).

Procedure performed: Hyaluronic acid fillers to lower lid and cheek area

  • Before Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 43
After Photo-Fillers to Treat Lower Eyelid Bags Patient 43

This patient wished to rejuvenate her lower lids. She has lower lid aging which include prominent orbital fat and loss of volume along her infraorbital rim. Hyaluronic acid filler injections (Restylane) were performed along her lower lid/cheek area. Note the significant improvement in her lower lids. Although her “bags” are still present, they are much improved and she is very happy with her results.  Ultimately she may require lower lid surgery (blepharoplasty) to further help remove her prominent “bags”.  Filler treatment with Restylane injections to her left upper lid were also performed to augment her left upper lid hollowing.

Preoperative Diagnosis: Lower lid hollowing, eye bags

Procedure performed:  Restylane (hyaluronic acid) injections to her lower lids (infraorbital rim area and tear trough). Fillers also performed to left upper lid.
